Fun with Photoshop

I have been reading some tutorials on The Pioneer Woman about Adobe Photoshop but haven't played with anything yet...until tonight!

It can be so much fun adding some extra colour or pizzazz to pictures.

Here's an example.

Take a mountainous scene that I snapped while whizzing along. (OK, as fast as 9 tonnes can whiz along, ha ha) Its a pretty nice photo if I say so myself. Crisp and clear.

Now here it is with a little pizzazz. If I were talking about dancing, it would be jazz hands. Come on, we all remember jazz hands! But since its a photo, its just pizzazz.

Now ain't that purdy? Beautiful greens and blues, who would know it wasn't the real thing? Now beside the other, it makes the first seem positively dull.

If you wanted to get really funky you could do this...

Red sky at night, sailors delight! But since this was morning...Red sky in morning, sailors take warning. Good thing no one was out sailing.

And then there's this. I call it the '80s encyclopedia look. You know, the colours that aren't quite right? A little too yellow. Hello Lorne Green's New Wilderness!

But then you could also do some neat filters like this...

Look close or click on the photo. Its called Crystallized. You can adjust the size of the crystals. It kind of looks like stained glass. Except, here's what that would look like...

Again, you can make the pieces as big as you want and the lines as thick as you want. It would be cool for the right picture.

Now here's one called Stamp. If you wanted to make a rubber stamp of this photo, this is how it would look. That's kind of cool. Especially if you had a close up of a kid or a cat or something. Then you could go make a stamp of it, if it turned out nice.

And last (for tonight) but not the last of the filters, this is called Lens Flare. Just in case you ever wanted to add the sun. Except the sun is appearing in the mountain. If only it was a little higher and to the right. Oh well, let's pretend. A nice touch to end on :)

That's all for tonight folks. Tomorrow we are headed to watch a kid's rodeo with some friends and Baby Blues will be all decked out in his new cowboy gear! Guess I had better stop and get some more batteries then...

Till tomorrow night,

Love,

The Slightly Bored and Wasting Time Momma :)
