OK, he got a little sidetracked at the beginning...

But he was soooo very happy in the puddles.

He dropped rocks and threw them down so they would splash. Amazing you have to drive 2hrs just to have this kind of fun!!!!

So here was the main street of Barkerville. We got there and it was sprinkling a little and grey. We managed to keep Baby Blues moving by asking him from where the water was coming, as it was running down the street. He kept looking for it for the whole 3 hrs!!!

And then I found the library. Book please!

And then there was the Apothecary. Drug store for us modernists. Good thing it wasn't an earthquake zone up there! What a mess that would have been. I think of the common sense items!

And then further down the main street... see there's a hint of blue sky coming.

And then I found it...the sewing displays! Look at the dress! I want one of those too.

Even though its not totally spelled correctly, I thought this was a grand name for a General Store.

And just look what they carried! Have you any Grey Poupon??

And then we happened on China Town. Of course they had segregation back then. Baby Blues had found a resident grey and white tabby cat just before China Town and as the cat walked along looking for food, Baby Blues would walk and half run beside the cat and pet it. He was obsessed with the cat. He wanted that cat. The cat, well, had the boy had any food, the cat would have wanted him too.

Then we hit the end of the line and the only way to get the boy back to beginning was to fill his head with thoughts of the stage coach...and yes, we did go for a ride! But we had to wait for 1/2hr first.

They even had people dressed up and would talk to you and even did some street acting but the boy wasn't into listening to that. He had puddles and cats to chase!

So we watched this. He was mesmerized. The guy would pump the bellows and the fire would burn hot, then he'd hammer away at it. Perhaps it was because he was getting sleepy or perhaps the fire kept his interest, but he could have stood here for another good hour.

Then Daddy bought him a used horse shoe and he is still toting it around the yard. It has made a dent in my cupboard before I tossed it outside. He thought the horse shoe was great.
Here he is on the stage coach. He hung his little head out and watched everything going by. He was NOT in the mood for the ride to end so we had to leave! 3hrs after we had started though! It was a great day and we had fun. I highly recommend this place :)

Stage Coach view...we had just been to this bakery and it was very good :P
